So God has told you about your future- about His purpose for
you. But there's nothing in the current status that shows any sign of what He
told you coming to pass. He says you'll walk in financial wealth, but you're
currently broke; He says you'll have a baby, but it’s been two years and
counting, He says you’ll get married but there’s no sign of the spouse, He says
you'll run an international company, but right now you're a janitor…..Etc.
You have the prophetic word, now what?
The story is told of a young shepherd boy who was called
from the field and anointed king. That however didn't mean that he was going to
jump on the throne and start ruling immediately the anointing ceremony was
done. {1 Samuel 16:11-13}
>> The other day I was listening to Ray Hughes and he
said "when
God speaks to you a prophetic word, He's not only telling you of what's to
happen, He's creating what's to happen -words have life to create what is
spoken"
So where do we go from here?
After the shepherd boy was anointed, he went back to the
fields to continue taking care of the sheep. One day his dad sends him to go deliver
lunch to his brothers who'd gone out for battle. You know the story, he finds
himself facing Goliath. What gave him boldness to face the giant with a certainty that he would kill the giant and its
cohorts, (apart from the fact that he knew God was with him), was the prophetic
word spoken over his life. Not so long ago God had sent Samuel to anoint him as
king. David, partnering with God figured that since the prophetic word hadn't
yet come to pass, he was certainly not going to die today! {1 Samuel 17:17-51}
What has God spoken over your life today and what giants are
you facing? Where do you go from the prophetic word?
Graham Cooke says "When God reveals to you your identity in him and
where He is taking you, He begins to address you in relation to that. He no longer
identifies you apart from the identity He reveals to you. " We have to then begin to respond to that
identity. We should see ourselves from that perspective, and agree with His
word. We should now begin to operate every aspect of our lives from that view.
That's what we do with the prophetic word!
David saw himself in light of his God-revealed identity, he
saw himself as a king, he saw himself victorious, and that is why he could
fearlessly face the giant. He had spent a lot of time in the field investing
himself in God, and that is why he was able to see from God's perspective.
Like I've said before, there's a process between when the
prophetic word is spoken and the outcome. We should go through the process with
the prophetic word in mind, and there'll be nothing we won’t be able to handle.
Graham Cooke then says "The brilliant thing about
prophecy is that it gives you an outcome. If you've got an outcome, then you're
going to survive the process!"
So there are words that have been spoken over me (which I'm
not at liberty to share today). Last Saturday, some friends and I decided that
we would practice changing our paradigms to agree with the prophetic words as
opposed to fighting them since they seem way above us; and report back what
happens.
This past week I've been exercising. I realized that as I
did so, I was walking in favour throughout; being treated like the royalty I am
every place I set foot, and having some prominent people looking for
me-adjusting their schedules according to mine! And then an amazing thing
happened last night (which I'll tell you ‘bout some other time).
I'm just saying that it works. It’s got nothing to do with
mere positive thinking; it’s about investing yourself in God while still in the
field (in the waiting), and aligning your thoughts with God's (your God-revealed
identity/prophetic word). Then step out in that perspective.
Remember, the prophetic word hasn't come to pass yet....No
Goliath can stop you! (Unless you let him)
